Cara Maniscalco, a native of Southwest Florida, brings a blend of academic excellence, practical experience, and unwavering dedication to justice to her role at Peakstone Law Group. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Forestry with a minor in International Studies from the University of Florida, graduating cum laude, and went on to complete her Juris Doctor at the University of Oregon. Graduating Order of the Coif, an honor awarded to the top 10% of law school graduates, Cara exemplified her commitment to excellence and her pursuit of greatness.
During her legal studies, Cara distinguished herself in numerous ways. As a staff editor for the Oregon Review of International Law, she honed her legal research and writing skills. She also demonstrated her advocacy acumen by competing in prestigious national moot court competitions, including the Texas Young Lawyers Association Mock Trial, and serving as an active member of the Moot Court Board throughout law school. Her commitment to public service earned her the Pro Bono Honors Award, and she gained invaluable practical experience through internships with the Air Force JAG Corps and the Oregon Supreme Court, where she served as a judicial clerk intern for Chief Justice Meagan Flynn.
Cara began her legal career as a Public Defender in Colorado Springs, where she passionately advocated for clients and developed extensive courtroom experience, particularly in defending complex criminal cases. Her dedication to protecting the rights of the accused and her skill in navigating the intricacies of criminal law made her an asset to the legal community. Following her tenure with the Public Defender’s Office, she joined Peakstone Law Group as a Criminal Defense Associate. In this role, Cara leverages her deep legal knowledge, refined litigation skills, and resolute commitment to justice to provide a strong voice for her clients.
Cara’s advocacy is guided by her belief that the power of the state must be vigilantly checked to uphold fairness and equity. Her meticulous preparation and commanding presence in the courtroom make her a formidable litigator who is steadfast in her dedication to her clients and the pursuit of justice.
Outside the courtroom, Cara embraces a well-rounded life. A certified yoga instructor, she finds balance through teaching and practicing yoga. She is an avid reader and a devoted dog mom to her hound, Scottie. Always eager to expand her horizons, Cara is currently learning Spanish to further enhance her cultural understanding and professional capabilities.
